Madrid Workshop - Sonic Latitudes

These points were plotted by the group we met with in Madrid during the last workshop. Each pin is a collective musical memory — places where the city sounds, has sounded, or should sound according to those who live in it.

It is not a route designed to walk from point to point, but a map of perceptions: how the people who participated in the exercise identify urban spaces with genres, artists, and moments. Chotis in Cascorro, swing in El Retiro, Afro drums in Lavapiés, punk in Dos de Mayo, zarzuela in Tetuán, everything fits when the cartography is made by the people who inhabit the territory.
